This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data
when you use the MeetFinder mobile application and related backend services
(collectively, the "Service"). The Service is intended only for adults aged 18 and over.
1. Data Controller
The controller of your personal data is: Michał Silski
05-270 Marki, Poland
Email: contact@meetfinder.pl
2. Scope of data we process
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process the following categories of data:
Account data – email address, password (stored in hashed form),
basic profile information such as display name, age, gender and language.
Profile data – information you choose to add to your profile,
such as photos, short bio, interests, "MoodFor" preferences, gender and age
range you are looking for, distance preferences and other optional fields.
Location data – approximate location used during live matching.
We periodically update your location (for example based on time and distance)
in order to show you users nearby. We do not need your exact address and do
not display your precise GPS coordinates to other users.
Match & chat data – information about your matches, chat messages
exchanged with other users and metadata related to those conversations
(e.g. timestamps, read status).
Technical and usage data – IP address, device identifiers, operating
system, app version, log data about your interactions with the Service, including
request logs, error logs and basic performance metrics.
Analytics and crash data – information collected by analytics and crash
reporting tools (for example Firebase, App Center or similar services), such as
anonymised identifiers, events, crashes and performance data.
Support & communication data – content of messages sent to our support
email address and any information you voluntarily provide when contacting us.
3. Purposes and legal bases of processing
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
Providing the Service – creating and managing your account, enabling
live matching, chats, and other core features of MeetFinder.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Ensuring security and preventing abuse – including fraud prevention,
investigating suspicious activity, enforcing our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines
and protecting other users.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Analytics and product improvement – understanding how the Service is
used, fixing bugs, improving performance and planning new features.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Push notifications – notifying you about new matches, messages and
important updates.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest or, where required, your consent
(Art. 6(1)(f) or 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can disable push notifications at any time
in your device settings.
Legal obligations – complying with legal requirements, e.g. accounting,
responding to legally valid requests by public authorities.
Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Marketing communication (if used) – sending information about important
updates or new features of MeetFinder.
Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), where applicable. You may withdraw
your consent at any time.
4. How we use location and real-time technologies
MeetFinder uses your approximate location to show you other users nearby.
Your location is updated periodically (for example every few minutes or after
significant movement). We do not show your exact coordinates to other users;
they only see approximate distance.
For real-time communication and matching, we may use WebSocket or similar
technologies. During these connections, your account identifiers, match
information and chat content may be processed in real time in order to deliver
messages and update your matchmaking status.
5. Data storage and retention
We store your data only as long as it is needed for the purposes described above:
Account and profile data – for as long as your account is active.
Chat and match data – for as long as your account is active, unless you delete
the conversation or your account, or retention is required by law.
Technical logs and analytics data – typically for a limited period necessary
to analyse issues and improve the Service.
"Active" means that your account has not been deleted by you and still exists in our system,
regardless of whether or not you use the Service regularly.
Account deletion and soft delete
You can request deletion of your account from within the app (if available) or by
contacting us at
support@meetfinder.pl.
When you request deletion, we will first perform a soft delete – your
account will be deactivated and not visible to other users for approximately
30 days. During this period, you may be able to restore your account. After the
soft delete period, your personal data will be permanently deleted or irreversibly
anonymised, unless we are legally required to retain some data for a longer period
(for example transaction or security logs).
System logs related to security, stability and abuse prevention may also be
retained for a limited period after deletion (for example up to 30 days) in order
to protect the Service and other users.
6. Data sharing and recipients
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with the following
categories of recipients, only to the extent necessary:
Hosting and infrastructure providers – e.g. Microsoft Azure,
which hosts our backend, databases and storage.
Storage providers – for storing profile photos and other media
(e.g. Azure Blob Storage).
Analytics and crash reporting providers – such as Firebase,
App Center or similar services.
Push notification providers – such as Google (FCM) and Apple (APNs).
Professional advisers – such as legal, accounting or IT security
consultants, where necessary.
Public authorities – if we are legally required to disclose data.
7. International data transfers
Some of the above providers may be located outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
In such cases we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as
Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or other legal
mechanisms for cross-border data transfers.
8. Children and minors
The Service is strictly intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly
allow persons under 18 to create an account or use the Service. If we become aware
that we have collected personal data from a person under 18, we will take reasonable
steps to delete such data and terminate the account.
9. Your rights
Under applicable data protection laws (in particular GDPR), you have the right to:
access your personal data and obtain a copy of it;
request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
request erasure of your data in certain circumstances;
request restriction of processing in certain circumstances;
object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
request data portability for data processed on the basis of a contract or consent;
withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country
where you live, work or where you consider that your rights have been infringed.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal
data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or destruction. However, no
system can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of
the Service.
